History of Inflatable Playgrounds
THE HISTORY OF INFLATABLE BOUNCE PLAYGROUNDS

Balorama inflatable playgrounds, inflatable slides, and inflatable ball pits continue to be the number one choice for families who want to entertain their children while they play sports. But do you know who invented these playgrounds?

The first inflatable playground was developed in England in the late 1950s by John Scurlock. While various materials were being invented to cover tennis courts, Scurlock invented an inflatable cover to protect the tennis court from external elements. During the testing phases of this new idea, Scurlock realized that his employees were jumping and having fun on this air-filled invention!
After coming up with the idea of using inflatable materials for children's entertainment, Scurlock founded his own company. Initially, the company only developed and produced inflatable airbags. These airbags increased the popularity of Scurlock's company, and new models were designed and walls were added. Windows were added, and thus the classic inflatable playgrounds we all know today took shape.
